According to an official notification issued by the provincial government, the retail price of flour has been increased by Rs 8 per kilogram, setting the new rate at Rs 107 per kg. As a result, a 10 kg flour bag will now sell for Rs 1,070. The decision has come into effect immediately.

The notification further states that the ex mill price of flour has been fixed at Rs 104 per kg, while a 10 kg bag at the mill level will cost Rs 1,040. Previously, in December 2025, the retail price of flour was Rs 99 per kg.

Welcoming the government’s move, Pakistan Flour Mills Association Chairman Junaid Aziz said the official price would be strictly followed in the retail market. He added that the Sindh government has supplied 230,000 tons of wheat for the months of December and January.

He noted that flour mills require between 250,000 and 300,000 tons of wheat per month, and expressed confidence that government support would help stabilize prices and ensure steady availability in the market.

With Ramadan approaching, authorities hope the revised pricing and wheat supply will prevent shortages and keep market conditions under control, offering some relief to consumers during a time of increased demand.
