According to the DPO Kurram, police action resulted in four terrorists being killed and six others injured during the operation. Two police personnel were martyred while resisting the assault.
Local sources reported that the attackers set fire to the Chanark police station check post before police reinforcements arrived. The exchange of fire between the Fitna al Khawarij militants and security personnel continued for several hours.
The DPO stated that additional police units were dispatched to the area and fought with exceptional bravery for nearly three hours.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed appreciation for the police force. He praised their timely response and said the killing of four terrorists reflected the professional capabilities of the force.
