According to the latest fare update, the Executive class fare from Lahore to Rawalpindi has climbed from Rs 2,250 to Rs 2,480, while the Executive Plus ticket for the same route has risen from Rs 3,350 to Rs 3,680.
The long-distance route from Lahore to Karachi has witnessed one of the biggest increases, with fares surging by Rs 3,000, bringing the total ticket price to Rs 13,200. Meanwhile, the scenic route from Lahore to Murree has also become more expensive, with fares jumping from Rs 3,100 to Rs 3,720.
Following a massive increase of Rs55 per litre in petroleum product prices, transport fares across the board have risen by up to 20 percent, as goods transporters, passenger buses, private taxi operators, Pakistan Railways, as well as airlines have increased their fares.

Other intercity routes have not been spared either. The fare from Lahore to Sadiqabad has gone up by Rs 700, reaching Rs 4,200, while passengers traveling from Lahore to Multan will now pay Rs 3,750, up from Rs 3,150.
Similarly, the ticket price from Lahore to Sialkot has increased from Rs 1,800 to Rs 2,150. The Lahore Pakpattan route now costs Rs 1,750, reflecting an increase of Rs 350, and passengers heading to Sargodha will face a similar rise, with fares climbing to Rs 2,000.
Transport companies say the hike is unavoidable, pointing to the recent surge in fuel prices that has pushed operating costs higher. For many travelers, however, the increase comes as another blow to already stretched household budgets.
With fuel prices continuing to fluctuate, commuters fear that transport fares may remain on an upward path in the coming weeks. For now, passengers are left tightening their belts as the cost of travel steadily inches higher.
