Addressing the oath-taking ceremony of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore’s newly elected Amir, Ziauddin Ansari, Liaqat Baloch administered the oath and delivered a speech that blended political reflection with a call for revival.
Baloch recalled Pakistan’s political past, saying, “There was a time when attempts were made to impose a one-party system, and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was chosen as its face.” He went on to draw parallels with more recent politics, remarking, “Another popular figure was later introduced to the political arena — a grand rally was held at Minar-e-Pakistan, and the founder of PTI rose to prominence on the strength of that gathering.”
Emphasizing ideological steadfastness, he added, “If we remain firm upon our principles and the strength of our ideology, success is inevitable.”
Liaqat Baloch also announced that Jamaat-e-Islami will hold a major congregation at Minar-e-Pakistan Ground from November 21 to 23, signaling the party’s renewed political mobilization in the heart of Lahore.
