PIMS stated that Khan remained vitally stable before, during and after the procedure and was discharged with instructions for further care and follow-up monitoring.
This was the fifth intravitreal injection administered to the PTI founder as part of his ongoing treatment. He previously received his fourth injection on April 28 after being transferred from Adiala Jail to PIMS for a similar examination.
While hospital authorities did not disclose the specific medication used, intravitreal injections are commonly prescribed for retinal disorders that affect blood vessels and vision. These treatments help reduce swelling, prevent further retinal damage and improve visual outcomes.
