According to an official statement, the conversation lasted for more than 30 minutes and focused on the recently signed agreement aimed at reducing regional tensions and advancing diplomatic engagement.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated President Pezeshkian, the Iranian leadership and the people of Iran on the signing of the peace deal, describing it as a landmark development that could help restore stability in the region and contribute to Iran’s reconstruction efforts.

He said the agreement would also strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations across a range of areas of mutual interest. The prime minister additionally conveyed his regards to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.

While welcoming Iran’s decision to sign the agreement, Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope for the success of the next phase of negotiations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support for Iran as a neighboring and brotherly country.

President Pezeshkian thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for what he described as their critical role in facilitating the mediation process.

He said Iran would remember Pakistan’s constructive efforts and support during a challenging period, adding that Tehran was keen to further expand bilateral cooperation with Islamabad in all areas of mutual interest.

The Iranian president also conveyed his best wishes for the people of Pakistan and emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the two neighboring countries.

Both leaders agreed to exchange visits at the earliest opportunity to advance cooperation on bilateral and regional issues. They also agreed to remain in close contact in the coming days.
