The notification, issued by Registrar Muhammad Yar Walana and approved by Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, comes as the judiciary prepares for its year-end recess.
This development follows the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s recently issued winter schedule, under which the top court will remain closed from December 18 to December 31, 2025, and resume work on January 1, 2026. Notably, despite the recess, Supreme Court offices will remain open, while urgent matters and fixed hearings will proceed as planned.
The winter break is a regular part of the judiciary’s annual calendar, designed to provide judges and court staff with a well-deserved pause during the cold season, allowing them to return refreshed for the new year’s caseload.
Within legal circles, discussions are already underway about how the break will affect pending matters and urgent hearings, making this 15-day hiatus one of the most talked-about developments in the country’s judicial schedule.
