According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, technical and high-level negotiations related to the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding will be held today in Bürgenstock, Switzerland.
Representatives from Pakistan, Iran, the United States, and other relevant parties are expected to take part in the discussions.
The statement said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir will represent Pakistan in the negotiation process. The Prime Minister has already arrived in Zurich with his delegation and will proceed to Bürgenstock for the talks.
A Foreign Office spokesperson said that on the sidelines of the negotiations, the Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with participating delegations.
These meetings will focus on the effective implementation of the Iran-US Memorandum of Understanding, regional peace, economic cooperation, and other matters of mutual interest.
The Foreign Office stated that Pakistan will continue its constructive and facilitative role in implementing the understandings reached between Iran and the United States and will remain committed to promoting peace, stability, and diplomatic solutions in the region.
Meanwhile, key members of the US delegation, including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, have already arrived in Switzerland, while US Vice President JD Vance is also present to attend the negotiations.
On the other hand, Iran’s high-level negotiating delegation has also reached Switzerland. According to Iranian media, the delegation is headed by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, senior Supreme National Security Council official Ali Bagheri, Central Bank Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati, Kazem Gharibabadi, and Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei.

Observers view the Bürgenstock talks as a significant step toward translating the recent Iran-US understanding into practical measures.
Progress is expected on issues including the nuclear program, economic sanctions, the Strait of Hormuz, regional security, and ceasefire arrangements.
Pakistan’s active participation is being seen as a reflection of its growing role in promoting peace, dialogue, and diplomatic solutions in the region.
