The assurance came during high-level talks between Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik and Kuwait’s Ambassador Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi, where both sides reaffirmed their long-standing partnership spanning more than five decades.
Officials said the agreement will help ensure a stable supply of critical energy resources for Pakistan, while also reflecting the deep trust and strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Malik expressed appreciation for Kuwait’s continued support, particularly in the energy sector, and highlighted commitments from Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to facilitate fuel imports through Pakistani vessels.
He also conveyed regards to Kuwait’s Oil Minister Tariq Suleiman Ahmed Al-Roumi and KPC CEO Sheikh Nawaf Al Sabah, emphasizing Pakistan’s long reliance on Kuwaiti petroleum supplies, especially diesel.
The minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability, noting that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is actively overseeing efforts to promote peace and ensure the supply of essential commodities to Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
Ambassador Almutairi praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in promoting peace and reaffirmed Kuwait’s support, expressing confidence in continued cooperation.
Both sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral ties, particularly in the energy sector, and to maintain close coordination to expand collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
