The directive emphasizes readiness for any emergencies during the festival, including allocating extra hospital beds, ensuring blood bags are available, and keeping lists of potential blood donors for quick assistance if needed. All critical machines X-ray, ultrasound, CT scan, and MRI must be functional, while mobile and telephone connections should remain active at all times. Hospitals are also required to submit a detailed preparedness plan to the Health Department without delay.

Kite-Making Allowed in Four More Districts

In a related development, the Punjab government has permitted kite-making activities in four additional districts Faisalabad, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Multan under strict regulations. Only registered manufacturers can produce kites and threads, following the Punjab Kite Flying Regulation Act 2025.

Registered manufacturers are allowed to sell kites and threads exclusively to registered traders in Lahore, and these items can be used only in Lahore on February 6, 7, and 8. Selling or using the kites outside Lahore during these dates is strictly prohibited. The deputy commissioners of the four districts have been tasked with supervising the arrangements, while traders in these areas are not allowed to register as sellers.
