Heavy Rain Turns Lahore Roads Into Streams
A powerful spell of monsoon rain early in the morning caused widespread flooding across Lahore and other parts of Punjab.
Several major roads turned into streams as water accumulated to several feet in many areas, severely affecting traffic movement. Many motorists were forced to abandon their vehicles after they stopped working in the floodwater.
Boats Used in DHA Due to Severe Waterlogging
Residents of Lahore’s Defence area faced major difficulties as rainwater remained stagnant for hours due to poor drainage.
With roads submerged and movement becoming difficult, some citizens began using boats to travel and reach their destinations.
Highest Rainfall Recorded Near Lahore Airport
According to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), the highest rainfall in Lahore was recorded near Lahore Airport, where 263mm of rain was measured.

Underpasses Closed Due to Flooding
Several important underpasses, including Harbanspura, Ghazi Underpass, Masjid Chowk Underpass, and multiple underpasses in Defence, were completely flooded and closed for traffic.
Lahore Traffic Police Chief urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and remain cautious until water levels decrease.
Several Areas Remain Under Water
Low-lying areas including Tajpura, Mughalpura, Journalists Colony, Jallo Park, Medical Scheme, Tajpura Scheme, Lock John Chowk, and Wateen Chowk experienced severe water accumulation.
In many locations, several feet of water entered residential areas, affecting daily activities.
Accidents and Infrastructure Damage Reported
Water accumulation and damaged roads caused several accidents in different parts of Lahore.
On Ferozepur Road near Rehmanpura and Ichhra, several motorcycle riders suffered accidents due to standing water and potholes.
Despite the installation of new sewerage lines worth Rs2 billion, another road collapse was reported on Khayaban-e-Firdousi.
A Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) truck also sank into the road near Habibullah Road in Garhi Shahu, affecting traffic flow.
Two Brothers Die in Rain-Related Accident
A tragic accident occurred near Central Park Gate No. 2 when a motorcycle slipped on the wet road and crashed into a footpath.
Two brothers, 18-year-old Hamza and 16-year-old Hassan, died in the accident while traveling from Lahore to Kasur.
Police said initial investigations suggested that the motorcycle went out of control due to slippery conditions caused by heavy rain.
Roof Collapse and Court Area Flooding
In Defence Phase 4, four people were injured after the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rainfall.
The premises of Cantt Kacheri were also flooded, with water entering court corridors and raising concerns about possible damage to official records.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab, Lahore recorded the highest rainfall during the last three days with 343mm.

21 People Killed in Rain-Related Incidents
The PDMA reported that during the last three days, 21 people lost their lives and 154 others were injured in rain-related accidents and roof collapse incidents across Punjab.
WASA Continues Drainage Operation
WASA Lahore said that, following directions from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, drainage operations are continuing across the city.
The PDMA warned that the second spell of mon agency said around 80 percent of affected areas have already been cleared of accumulated rainwater.
More Rain Expected as Monsoon Spell Continues
The PDMA warned that the second spell of monsoon rains is expected to continue until tomorrow. Citizens have been advised to avoid low-lying areas, storm drains, rivers, and weak structures to prevent further accidents.
