The event took place at the Education Unit and aimed to educate motorcyclists about vehicle maintenance, smoke emission control, and safe riding practices during foggy conditions.
During the campaign, face masks made from side-view mirrors were distributed among participants as a symbolic reminder of road visibility and safety. Additionally, small bulbs for indicators and headlights were handed out to encourage proper maintenance of motorcycle lighting systems.
A thorough inspection of motorcycles was conducted on-site, with professional mechanics available to repair broken headlights, backlights, and indicator bulbs immediately. This hands-on approach ensured that each vehicle met safety standards before leaving the event.
To further enhance riders’ awareness, a driving simulator was set up, allowing participants to experience smoke-filled and foggy conditions virtually. The simulator demonstrated common mistakes riders make in low-visibility situations and emphasized the importance of cautious and responsible driving.
The event was graced by the presence of DSP Tahir Sindhu, DSP Umar Farooq, and SP Sadar Zafar Naqvi, who commended the initiative and encouraged participants to adopt safer riding habits.
The Lahore Traffic Police reaffirmed their commitment to public safety, stating that such campaigns are crucial in reducing road accidents and promoting environmental responsibility among citizens.
