The latest operations have increased the number of terrorists killed during Operation Shaban to 79, while a total of 117 militants have been killed in the operation and other intelligence-based operations since July 5.

Security sources said that the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, and Balochistan Police conducted air and ground operations in different areas based on intelligence information. The targeted militants belonged to Fitna al-Hindustan, and were eliminated during coordinated security actions.

According to officials, five terrorists were killed in the first operation, while three more were eliminated in the second operation. The militants were reportedly involved in various terrorist activities.

Security forces also recovered a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and other equipment from terrorist hideouts during the operations.

Officials said that operations against terrorists in Balochistan are continuing with full intensity and Operation Shaban will continue without interruption until the elimination of the last terrorist. Security forces are carrying out effective operations on both ground and air fronts to target militant hideouts.

Background of Operation Shaban

The operation was launched in early July 2026 following a deadly terrorist attack at Mangi Dam Police Station in Balochistan’s Ziarat district, where nine police personnel were martyred.

Following the attack, the government and security institutions decided to target the entire network and hideouts of militants involved in anti-state activities.

Under this strategy, the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, and Balochistan Police joined forces to conduct a coordinated operation aimed at eliminating banned militant groups, protecting public lives and property, and restoring peace in the region.

Interior Minister Praises Security Forces

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised security forces for their successful operations against terrorists during Operation Shaban.

He appreciated the Pakistan Army, FC Balochistan, and police for their joint efforts and said the forces deserve recognition for their effective ground and aerial operations.

Mohsin Naqvi said the fight against terrorism will continue until the complete elimination of terrorists from the country. He added that those attempting to destroy peace in Balochistan are being brought to justice and the nation stands with security forces.

He further said that the killing of 117 terrorists in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations reflects that security forces remain active, professional, and alert.
