Pakistan Air Force Successfully Test Fires Indigenous ‘Taimoor’ Weapon System

ISPR said the Taimoor air launched cruise missile has the capability to strike ground and maritime targets at a range of up to 600 kilometers.

The missile is designed to fly at low altitude, enhancing its effectiveness in evading enemy air and missile defense systems, and is equipped with advanced navigation and guidance systems.

ISPR stated that the successful test has significantly enhanced the PAF’s conventional deterrence capability.

The Taimoor weapon system strengthens Pakistan’s credible defense posture in the regional security environment and reflects the achievement of national security objectives. The statement added that the success underscores national resolve and technological self-reliance.

The flight test was witnessed by senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces and scientists. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu congratulated the scientists and engineers on the successful test.

Separately, the President of Pakistan paid tribute to the Pakistan Air Force for the successful test of the locally developed Taimoor weapon system.

He said indigenous development of advanced weaponry is a clear reflection of national capability, determination and institutional expertise, calling it an important milestone in Pakistan’s journey toward self-reliance in defense.

He added that the promotion of advanced technologies in the defense sector demonstrates Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its security and sovereignty.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the nation and the Pakistan Air Force on the successful test.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Saturday, the prime minister praised Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, and the scientists and engineers involved in the missile program.

The prime minister commended the PAF’s professionalism, dedication and unwavering commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s defense capabilities, stating that the Taimoor weapon system would further reinforce the country’s defense.

He said the successful flight test highlights the technological maturity, innovation and self reliance of Pakistan’s defense industry, and reflects the PAF’s operational readiness, technological edge and continued efforts to achieve national security objectives.
