The meeting outlined an ambitious vision for Pakistan’s renewable energy future and signaled a significant shift toward sustainable development and economic growth.

The discussions focused on large scale investment in solar energy and green technology. The aim is to meet Pakistan’s rising energy demands and expand exports while accelerating the country’s progress in the renewable sector.

The Chinese delegation represented Hebei Johang Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd. and expressed a strong interest in investing billions of dollars in Pakistan. Their focus included advanced technology sectors, particularly solar manufacturing, reflecting Pakistan’s growing appeal as a destination for foreign investment.

Authorities have offered the delegation 6,000 acres of land for the establishment of a manufacturing plant. The minister also briefed the visitors on incentives available in Special Economic Zones. These benefits include a ten year exemption from income tax.

Minister Sheikh noted that Pakistan is moving toward economic stability. He pointed to a four to five fold increase in the stock market index over the past year and highlighted the potential in sectors such as agriculture, solar energy, information technology, chemicals and manufacturing.

The meeting also reviewed progress made during the second Pakistan China B2B Investment Conference that took place in Beijing in September. That conference resulted in agreements and joint ventures worth 8.5 billion dollars and strengthened the economic partnership between the two countries.

The minister reassured the delegation of full support from the Board of Investment and encouraged speedy completion of feasibility studies and joint venture arrangements. He said Pakistan is a strong strategic partner of China and welcomes high quality green technology investments that can create thousands of jobs and support sustainable economic growth.
