The decision comes as part of an effort to make daily routines smoother for both government employees and the general public while ensuring that essential services continue without disruption.

According to the official statement, government departments operating six days a week will remain open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while on Fridays offices will function from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Similarly, institutions observing a five day workweek will follow the same schedule from Monday to Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with shorter hours on Friday, closing at 12:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, authorities in Quetta have also formally announced Ramadan office hours. As per the provincial directive, government offices across Balochistan will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday, while Friday hours will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. In certain departments, however, working hours from Monday to Thursday may extend until 3:00 p.m., depending on administrative needs.

Officials clarified that these adjusted timings are temporary and apply strictly during Ramadan. Once the sacred month concludes, regular office hours will be restored.

All federal and provincial departments have been directed to adhere strictly to the revised schedule, ensuring that public services remain steady, reliable, and accessible.
