According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional linkages, expanding training cooperation, and enhancing collaboration in the defence industry between Pakistan and Indonesia. The two sides also explored avenues to further deepen defence cooperation across multiple domains.
The Indonesian Defence Minister praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He also expressed Indonesia’s desire to further expand defence relations with Pakistan in various fields.
Speaking on the occasion, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering strong, long-term, and multidimensional defence relations with Indonesia, based on shared values, mutual respect, and convergence of strategic interests.
Earlier, a high-level Indonesian defence delegation, led by Defence Minister Lieutenant General (Retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, met Federal Minister for Defence Production Muhammad Raza Hayat Haraj and senior officials of the Ministry of Defence Production in Rawalpindi.
The Federal Minister for Defence Production said Pakistan considers Indonesia a close friend and brotherly Muslim country, adding that recent high-level engagements have imparted new momentum to bilateral cooperation in the defence production sector.
He highlighted that Pakistan possesses significant potential in defence production and that both sides have agreed to establish joint working groups to enhance collaboration in this field.

The Indonesian Defence Minister expressed keen interest in expediting the work of the joint working groups, stating that this would open new avenues for future cooperation and enable both countries to effectively utilize each other’s capabilities.
Federal Minister Raza Hayat Haraj said that Pakistan–Indonesia relations are characterized by mutual trust, respect, and goodwill. He also invited Indonesian officials to actively participate in the defence exhibition IDEAS 2026 to explore further opportunities for defence collaboration.
On behalf of the Indonesian delegation, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin thanked Pakistan for its warm hospitality, describing Pakistan as an important country with a rich culture, a functioning democracy, and a dynamic economy. Both sides expressed confidence that the brotherly relations would be transformed into a long-term partnership based on mutual trust and respect.
