The understanding was reached during a high level meeting in Saudi Arabia where both sides discussed security cooperation and institutional linkages between the two interior ministries.

Prince Abdulaziz offered condolences to the families of the personnel who were martyred in the recent attack on the Federal Constabulary Headquarters in Peshawar and acknowledged their service and sacrifice. Both ministers highlighted the need to expand cooperation in information sharing, capacity building and coordinated responses to emerging security threats.

The legal status of Rohingya Muslims living in Saudi Arabia also came under discussion. Prince Abdulaziz thanked Pakistan for its support on the matter. It was further agreed that the next session of the Pakistan Saudi Arabia Interior Ministries Working Group would be held next month to review progress on the agreed steps.

Mohsin Naqvi described Saudi Arabia as a second home for every Pakistani and underlined the strong partnership between the two countries. The meeting was attended by Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq, Commandant Federal Constabulary Nazir Gaara, Commandant National Police Academy Muhammad Idrees and senior officials of the Saudi interior ministry.

Earlier, during his regional visit, the interior minister met Qatar’s Minister of Interior Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani where they discussed regional and bilateral issues. Their talks covered increased cooperation between law enforcement agencies, joint measures to curb drug trafficking, better coordination between coastal security units and other matters of mutual interest.

In a message on X, Mohsin Naqvi thanked his Qatari counterpart for supporting the establishment of a modern firing range at the National Police Academy in Islamabad and invited him to visit Pakistan.
