The remarks came during a meeting with Paul Kapur, where both sides discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in the Middle East, according to a statement issued by the interior ministry.
The meeting was also attended by Natalie A Baker, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and other officials.
During the discussions, Naqvi said Pakistan-US relations had strengthened during the tenure of Donald Trump.
The two sides also discussed enhancing cooperation in security, counterterrorism and counternarcotics sectors. Naqvi said Pakistan had ensured security arrangements for American companies working on the Reko Diq project.
The interior minister added that Pakistan remained hopeful for a peaceful and lasting resolution to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
In response, Kapur praised Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Naqvi’s comments regarding direct flights come months after Pakistan International Airlines resumed direct flights to London earlier this year following a six-year suspension.
PIA announced on March 29 that its inaugural direct flight from Islamabad to London had departed successfully, adding that direct Lahore-London operations would also continue.
Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif had said the government was working with US aviation authorities to restore direct flight operations between Pakistan and the United States, alongside expanding PIA’s routes to destinations in the UK, Europe and Canada.
