Security officials said the intelligence-based operation was carried out in the Spinwam area after reports of militant movement and underground activity. Among those killed was Kharji Umar, also known by the aliases Jan Mir and Tor Saqib, a figure authorities describe as a key operational planner linked to multiple deadly attacks on both civilians and security personnel.

Officials say the militant commander had built an elaborate network of hidden tunnels, bunkers, and explosive traps around the Bubali Mosque area turning parts of the region into what security insiders called a fortified shadow zone.
