The launch was conducted by the Pakistan Army’s Rocket Force Command as part of operational training and technical validation exercises.
According to the ISPR, the Fatah-4 missile system is equipped with advanced avionics and modern navigational technologies, enabling it to strike long-range targets with high precision.
The military said the purpose of the training launch was to improve troop operational readiness and validate the performance of multiple sub-systems designed to enhance accuracy and survivability.
Senior officers from the Pakistan Army Rocket Force Command witnessed the launch alongside scientists and engineers associated with the missile’s development programme.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu congratulated the personnel involved in the successful launch.
They praised the technical expertise, dedication and commitment of the scientists, engineers and military personnel who contributed to the successful training exercise involving the F-series missile system.
The latest test follows another successful training launch conducted by the Army Rocket Force Command on April 28 involving the indigenously developed Fateh-II missile system.
Earlier this year, the Pakistan Navy also conducted a successful live firing of the indigenous Taimoor air-launched cruise missile, an anti-ship weapon system designed for long-range maritime strike operations.
The military had stated at the time that the missile demonstrated Pakistan Navy’s capability to detect, track and neutralise enemy sea-based targets with precision at extended ranges.
