Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar made the remarks during a telephone conversation with European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office.
During the call, both leaders reviewed the evolving regional situation and discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at preserving peace and stability in the Middle East.
According to the Foreign Office, Kallas appreciated Pakistan s "sincere efforts" that led to the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. She also expressed concern over recent ceasefire violations and stressed that communication channels between all parties must remain open to prevent further escalation.
Dar briefed the EU s top diplomat on Pakistan s continued diplomatic engagement to promote a comprehensive framework for regional peace and stability. He underscored the importance of all parties honouring the ceasefire agreement and avoiding actions that could undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts.
The remarks came after Iran launched missiles and drones targeting US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain early on Sunday, shortly after US President Donald Trump warned that Washington could take further military action if Tehran failed to comply with the interim agreement aimed at ending the conflict.
Meanwhile, Israel said it carried out strikes against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon on Saturday, a day after agreeing to a new ceasefire arrangement with Lebanon. Iran has maintained that sustained calm in Lebanon is essential for the broader regional agreement to hold.
