According to Minister Tarar, following the failure of “Operation Sandor,” India launched a campaign to spread disinformation against Pakistan. In this context, Ejaz Mallah was reportedly approached by Indian operatives, assigned specific tasks, and then sent back to Pakistan.
The Information Minister explained that Pakistani authorities became aware that Mallah was attempting to procure military uniforms of the Army, Navy, and Rangers, along with Zong SIM cards, Pakistani cigarettes, and currency. This prompted immediate surveillance, ultimately leading to his detention. During interrogation, Mallah reportedly admitted to all allegations.
At the press briefing, Minister Tarar also presented a video confession of Mallah, in which he recounted that while fishing in the sea, he was intercepted by the Indian Coast Guard. He claimed that Indian intelligence officers offered him money and instructed him to smuggle military uniforms, SIM cards, cigarettes, and currency back to India for an “information operation.”
Mallah allegedly provided photographs to the Indian officer and, upon attempting to return to the sea, was apprehended by Pakistani security agencies.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry described the episode as India’s new propaganda operation, now fully exposed. He emphasized that Pakistan’s media and security agencies have secured a victory for truth in this informational confrontation.
Chaudhry also revealed that Mallah was captured by the Indian Coast Guard in September, with evidence showing a payment of PKR 95,000 was offered to him. He stressed that Indian intelligence continues to wage psychological and informational warfare against Pakistan, but Pakistani authorities remain vigilant, foiling such plots at every turn.
Concluding the press conference, Minister Tarar asserted that India has yet to reconcile with Pakistan’s success in the ongoing struggle for truth and justice, prompting attempts to exploit vulnerable individuals like fishermen. However, Pakistan’s institutions will continue to neutralize enemy designs at every level, he affirmed.
