In a post on X, the prime minister said Trump had held a “very useful and productive” call with regional leaders, including those from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkiye, Egypt, the UAE, Jordan and Pakistan.
He said Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir represented Pakistan during the call and appreciated his role in supporting ongoing diplomatic efforts.
According to the prime minister, the discussions focused on the regional situation and ways to advance peace efforts aimed at achieving long-term stability.
“We hope to host the next round of talks very soon,” he added, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to continued mediation.
Trump, in a separate post on Truth Social, said he had spoken with several regional leaders and claimed that an agreement related to Iran was close to finalisation, including arrangements concerning the Strait of Hormuz.
However, Iranian media disputed parts of his claim, particularly regarding control of the strategic waterway.
The latest diplomatic activity comes amid intensified mediation efforts by Pakistan between Washington and Tehran following months of regional tensions.
Pakistan has played a key role in facilitating contacts since the outbreak of hostilities earlier this year, including hosting earlier rounds of dialogue and supporting backchannel negotiations aimed at de-escalation.
