Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi will also accompany the Prime Minister on his visit.
Ishaq Dar has already arrived in New York and is holding various diplomatic meetings on the sidelines of the General Assembly session.
Sharif will address the United Nations General Assembly on September 25. His address is expected to present Pakistan’s position on the changing regional and global security situation, while emphasizing the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
In his address, the Prime Minister will highlight Pakistan’s diplomatic and mediation efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region and promote peace and stability.
In addition, Pakistan’s priorities on various global issues including sustainable development, climate change, the fight against terrorism, Islamophobia and global economic challenges will also be presented.
The Prime Minister will also draw the attention of the international community to the issues of long-standing conflicts, occupation and deprivation of self-determination in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

The Prime Minister will participate in several high-level meetings on development, climate action and other important global issues on the sidelines of the General Assembly session.
The general debate of the 81st General Assembly will be held from September 22 to 26 and September 28, while the theme of this year’s session is “Rebuilding trust, managing change: A United Nations that works for all”.
