Addressing a weekly media briefing in Islamabad, Andrabi said the prime minister will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with other members of the federal cabinet.
He said PM Shehbaz will reaffirm Pakistan s solidarity with Iran during the visit. Following his trip to Tehran, the prime minister will travel to Turkiye at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, where he is scheduled to address a business conference in Istanbul.
On the ongoing US-Iran negotiations, Andrabi said Pakistani mediators held separate meetings with American and Iranian negotiators in Doha, with positive progress made on several aspects of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
He said both sides agreed to continue negotiations at the earliest opportunity, adding that Pakistan, alongside Qatar, would continue facilitating the dialogue.
The spokesperson also said Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar remained in contact with the foreign ministers and senior leaders of Saudi Arabia, China, Bahrain, Iran, the United Kingdom and the European Union.
Referring to the recent attack on a Pakistan Rangers camp in Karachi, Andrabi said Afghanistan s charge d affaires had been summoned and a strong protest was lodged over the involvement of Afghan nationals in the incident. He added that Pakistan s ambassador in Kabul had also delivered a formal protest note to the Afghan Foreign Ministry.
He said evidence showed Afghan nationals were involved in terrorist activities inside Pakistan and warned that action would be taken against Afghan citizens residing in the country without valid visas or legal documents.
Speaking about the Indus Waters Treaty seminar held in Islamabad, Andrabi said participants rejected India s unilateral suspension of the treaty and stressed that water should never be used as a weapon. He warned that depriving any country of its shared water resources would pose a serious threat to regional peace and security.
