According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif is undertaking this visit to the brotherly nation at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
At King Khalid International Airport, the Prime Minister and his delegation were received by Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistants Tariq Fatemi and Bilal bin Saqib.
During his stay, the Prime Minister
will hold meetings with Saudi leadership to discuss ways to expand bilateral
cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and manpower development.
The discussions will also cover regional and global issues of mutual concern.
According to the Foreign Office, the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative will bring together world leaders, investors, policymakers, and experts under the theme “The Key to Prosperity: Unveiling the Frontiers of Growth.”
The forum will feature discussions on sustainable development, economic inclusion, innovation, environmental resilience, and global geopolitical shifts, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will present Pakistan’s perspective on these pressing global challenges.
Notably, during the Prime Minister’s official visit to Riyadh last month, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a landmark Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement, under which an attack on either country would be considered an attack on both — a move set to further strengthen their joint defence capabilities.
