She reaffirmed her stubborn and unwavering resolve to eliminate corruption, a menace she described as a crime, a social blotch, and a combustible threat that precariously rattles the foundations of society.
Calling corruption an unlucky salao that pushes nations toward oblivion, Maryam Nawaz asserted that Punjab has maintained a consecutive series of reforms designed to thwart malpractice at every level of governance.
She noted that from day one, her administration has pursued a zero tolerance policy, a stance she said is indispensable for restoring public trust and strengthening institutions.
She warned that corruption spreads perilously, leaving society strewn with disappointment and marred by injustice. The Chief Minister emphasized that governance, in her view, must hinge on transparency, accountability, and a revamped public service mechanism.
Highlighting Punjab’s new KPI based governance system, she said the model has spurred officials to work with renewed finesse, efficiency, and frugal use of resources, a testament to persistence and flair that has improved service delivery across departments.
Under mounting pressure from citizens demanding good governance, the CM described the fight against corruption as a pivotal tenet of her administration.
She reiterated that neither political influence nor administrative rank will shield anyone from accountability. ‘No form of corruption will be tolerated, ruthlessly and consistently, we will confront it,’ she said.
The CM added that the anti corruption establishment has been revamped into a more independent, unflustered institution, capable of acting without constrained oversight or external persuasion.
The transformation, she said, addresses long standing public concerns that once seemed baffling and obscure.
Maryam Nawaz urged every citizen, from government staff and civil society groups to the media and even expatriate Pakistanis, to convene around a shared national goal, a Pakistan free from corruption.
She stressed that national redemption depends on collective action, a society where benevolence outweighs personal gain and where responsible conduct becomes the guiding tenet of public life.
We must envisage a future where Pakistan ascends to the apex of integrity and prosperity, she remarked, noting that progress cannot consist merely of rhetoric but must be anchored in real measures.
In remarks tinged with both realism and hope, the Chief Minister acknowledged that the task ahead is staggering. Yet, she expressed confidence that with adequate systems, principled conduct, and public cooperation, Punjab can spur sustainable change.
Our journey toward a corruption-free Pakistan may appear gaunt in its early steps, but with benevolence, firmness, and unity, it will reach its pinnacle, she said.
Despite challenges that perilously test institutional stamina, Maryam Nawaz maintained an unflustered stance. Her administration, she asserted, will continue to work with neither flashy nor timid consistency, guided by merit, guided by integrity, and guided by an unshakeable commitment to the people.
