Addressing a public gathering in Attock under the “Change the System” campaign, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that after taking control from Muslims, the British gradually empowered Hindus over Muslims, and as a result of this collusion, Muslims were politically, economically, and socially marginalized.
He said that Muslims in Kashmir continue to make sacrifices, while Pakistan has failed to materialize in the true spirit envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam.
The Jamaat-e-Islami chief stated that the true objective behind the creation of Pakistan was the transformation of the system—one based on Islamic principles for which countless sacrifices were made—where justice and fairness prevail, everyone has access to education, employment opportunities, and security, and the dignity of citizens is protected.
He emphasized the need to abolish feudalism, tribal supremacy, and landlord monopolies in order to establish genuine equality in society.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman further said that Pakistani society was controlled through force in the past and continues to be controlled the same way today, calling for an immediate end to such practices.
Expressing regret, he said Pakistan did come into existence, but soon after Quaid-e-Azam’s passing, certain elite groups took control of the country. He stressed that this crisis is not the fault of any single political party but a failure of the entire system.
Criticizing the bureaucratic structure, the Jamaat-e-Islami leader said that after passing competitive examinations, bureaucrats are trained to operate within the same colonial framework established by the British, and it is under this mindset that the country continues to be governed today.
