Showers were recorded in Surjani Town, Gulshan-e-Maymar and surrounding areas, while light drizzle was also reported in Scheme 33 and nearby localities.
Earlier in the day, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had forecast rain accompanied by thunder in Karachi during the afternoon or evening.
According to the PMD, the city s maximum temperature is expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 29.5°C.
Humidity stood at 82%, keeping weather conditions humid across the port city.
Sea breezes were blowing at a speed of 8 kilometres per hour, the weather department said.
