According to the military’s media wing, multiple militant hideouts were targeted in the Datta Khel area over the past 48 hours following intelligence inputs. After intense exchanges of fire, 11 militants were killed, and weapons and ammunition were recovered.
ISPR said follow-up sanitisation operations are underway to clear any remaining militant presence in the area.
In a separate development, security sources said at least 16 militants, including two ringleaders, were killed in an ongoing joint operation by the Pakistan Army, police and Counter Terrorism Department in Bannu, where two police personnel were also martyred.
Officials said the operation was launched after reports of militant presence in the Miryan area.
Meanwhile, in Quetta, a blast near a railway track at Chaman Phatak killed at least 14 people, including Frontier Corps personnel, and injured several others, according to provincial authorities. Women and children were also among the injured, who were shifted to hospitals for treatment.
Authorities said security forces have intensified operations in the region amid a recent spike in militant attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Officials also reiterated longstanding concerns that militant groups continue to use cross-border sanctuaries, an allegation Pakistan has repeatedly raised in discussions with Afghan authorities.
