The case was initiated after a former female employee of K-Electric filed a complaint with the provincial ombudsperson, accusing Moonis Alvi of harassment. Following the complaint, the ombudsperson had ordered Alvi’s removal from office and imposed a fine of Rs 2.5 million.
However, the governor’s intervention has now overturned that ruling, effectively canceling both the penalty and the removal order.
The decision highlights the importance of careful review of evidence in sensitive cases and reinforces the role of constitutional authority in ensuring that justice is not only delivered, but also seen to be delivered through due process.
