Speaking to officials and local authorities, Lanjar said the government’s patience is wearing thin and warned that those who refuse to lay down their arms ‘will be eliminated.’
He urged criminals to surrender immediately, hinting that the government is preparing a ‘major surprise’ for outlaw groups entrenched in the katcha areas the dense, hard to navigate riverine stretches that have long served as safe havens for armed gangs.
The minister revealed that orders have already been placed for modern weapons, advanced drones, and other cutting edge equipment to strengthen the hands of law enforcement agencies. He emphasized that the mega operation titled ‘Nijat e Mehran’ will continue without pause until the writ of the state is fully restored.
‘Our top priority is the protection of life and property,’ Lanjar stated, adding that action against criminal elements is being carried out without discrimination. He praised the sacrifices of the Sindh Police, calling their commitment ‘remarkable and deeply valued,’ and assured that the government would provide every possible resource to reinforce their efforts.
According to the minister, police and Rangers have begun advancing toward forward positions in the katcha region, tightening the noose around criminal hideouts. He expressed confidence that lasting peace in the troubled belt is within reach, describing it as a long-standing vision that is now moving closer to reality.
Lanjar also highlighted the full backing of the Sindh Chief Minister for the ongoing operation, signaling strong political will behind the campaign.
Earlier, DIG Nasir Aftab briefed the minister on the security landscape across the range and various districts, with special focus on steps being taken to cleanse the riverine zones of crime.
With enhanced surveillance, upgraded firepower, and a firm resolve, authorities appear determined to turn the tide against organized crime in the region sending a message that the era of unchecked lawlessness is drawing to a close.
