Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that a security threat had been identified prior to the KP chief minister’s visit, which was formally communicated to him, and a comprehensive security plan was also put in place. However, despite this, visits were conducted against the approved routes and designated locations.
He alleged that during the visit, stones were pelted at police personnel, media vehicles were damaged, and journalists were mistreated. According to the senior minister, the security situation was deliberately exploited to create unrest, with a conscious effort to generate a situation resembling the events of May 9.
Sharjeel Memon said that despite these developments, the Sindh government exercised utmost restraint and did not register any FIR against any political leader.
Criticizing the KP chief minister, the Sindh senior minister rejected claims that the Sindh government had stopped or obstructed him, calling the allegation baseless. He questioned what benefit the Sindh government could possibly gain by stopping someone in traffic.
He further said that the KP chief minister was accorded respect and protocol upon his arrival in Karachi but failed to honour that gesture. “Our decency was taken undue advantage of,” he said, adding that no wheel-jam strike or any form of shutdown would be allowed in Sindh on February 8 under any circumstances.

Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that although the KP chief minister was not deserving of the level of respect he was given during the Karachi visit, he was still welcomed and provided with clear security instructions regarding areas that were off-limits due to security concerns. However, those instructions were ignored.
He concluded by stating that the Sindh government would not compromise on law and order and would not allow anyone to create chaos or spread unrest in the province.
