Talking to the media outside Parliament House, Talal Chaudhry said Pakistan has made immense sacrifices in the war against terrorism and will no longer allow anyone to weaken the country’s fundamental national security position. He stressed that any form of concession or soft corner for terrorists is against Pakistan’s national interest.

The Minister of State said political movements may be launched any number of times, but no action or statement against Pakistan’s stability, national security, or state narrative will be tolerated. He warned that those who cross national red lines will see their politics come to an end automatically.

Speaking on the Toshakhana-II case, Talal Chaudhry said it was a clear-cut case and a conviction was inevitable. He added that ensuring justice is the responsibility of the state, and judicial decisions should not be politicized.

He said that more than 1,200 Pakistanis have been martyred in terrorist incidents, with 60 to 70 percent of these incidents occurring in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He questioned how many more sacrifices would be required before a clear and unequivocal stance against terrorism is adopted.

Criticizing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the federal minister said the provincial administration is unwilling to repatriate illegally residing Afghan nationals and is avoiding concrete measures against terrorism. He added that several districts in the province do not have Counter Terrorism Force units, no district has a fully functional Safe City project, and even the Safe City project in Peshawar remains incomplete.

Talal Chaudhry further said that forensic laboratories have deliberately not been established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and anti-terrorism institutions have not been provided with adequate resources, making effective action against terrorists difficult.

He said it is no longer a secret where terrorism is originating from, where the hideouts are, and who is supporting these elements. According to him, banned organizations have training camps and sanctuaries in Afghanistan, a fact acknowledged not only by Pakistan but also by more than two dozen countries around the world.

The Minister alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s policy has been to create ambiguity over the national narrative and avoid explicitly calling terrorists terrorists. He claimed that over the past 11 years, no major PTI leader, minister, or adviser has been targeted in terrorist attacks, while other political and religious parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been repeatedly targeted.

Senator Talal Chaudhry said parties and leaders who speak openly against terrorists are targeted, while those creating ambiguity remain safe. He added that PTI spokespersons even today refrain from standing with the security forces and continue to take positions against the national narrative wherever they go.

He concluded by saying that decisive action against terrorism has become inevitable and that there will be no compromise on national security, the armed forces, or the state’s stance on terrorism.
