On Wednesday Special Judge Central Arjumand Shah announced the verdict at Adiala Jail in the presence of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. The court also awarded both accused an additional seven years’ imprisonment each under Section 409 of the Pakistan Penal Code, bringing their total sentence to 17 years’ imprisonment apiece.
The court further imposed a fine of Rs1 million on Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
It is pertinent to note that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested the PTI founder and his wife in the Toshakhana-II case on July 13, 2024, from Adiala Jail.
Both accused remained in NAB’s custody for 37 days. After completion of the investigation, NAB filed a reference in the accountability court on August 20.
