According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the visiting Turkish commander was presented with a guard of honour upon arrival at GHQ.

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual professional interest, regional security developments, and ways to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation.

Field Marshal Asim Munir underscored the long-standing historical, cultural, and strategic relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye, and appreciated the strong defence partnership between the two armed forces.

The Turkish general also held separate meetings at the Naval Headquarters in Islamabad with Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, where discussions focused on professional cooperation and the regional maritime security environment.

In addition, General Tokel called on Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters in Islamabad. The two sides reviewed ongoing military cooperation and other matters of professional interest.

According to ISPR, the visiting dignitary praised the professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces and acknowledged their contributions to regional peace and stability.

He also expressed Türkiye’s commitment to further expanding defence cooperation and institutional linkages between the two countries’ armed forces.
