The agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and visiting Chinese Vice Minister for Public Security Gao Qi in Islamabad.
The two sides discussed ways to expand cooperation in tackling terrorism and drug trafficking, according to Pakistan’s Interior Ministry.
Pakistan and China also agreed to expand their police training exchange programme and strengthen cooperation in the use of modern law enforcement technology and equipment.
Gao Qi praised Pakistan’s sacrifices and resolve in the fight against terrorism. Mohsin Naqvi said the establishment of the new law enforcement center would serve as another symbol of the friendship between Pakistan and China.
He added that Chinese AI-based technology and modern equipment could prove highly useful in addressing Pakistan’s security challenges.
The two countries also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in law enforcement and security related areas.
