Artemis II is NASA’s first crewed mission under the Artemis program, launching from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The mission will carry astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen on an approximately 10-day journey around the Moon. Using NASA’s SLS rocket, the mission will test Orion spacecraft’s life support systems with humans onboard, preparing for future Artemis missions.
NASA will stream briefings and events 24/7 on its YouTube channel, with additional coverage of launch, lunar flyby, and splashdown on NASA+ and Amazon Prime. Media and virtual participants can access updates, imagery, and live streams through NASA’s Artemis blog and Artemis II Multimedia portal.
Key events leading up to launch include the crew’s arrival at Kennedy on March 27, virtual and in-person media briefings March 29–31, and prelaunch coverage beginning April 1. NASA will continue live mission coverage through the return of the crew, with major events including the lunar flyby on April 6, conversations with astronauts aboard the International Space Station on April 7, and the planned splashdown on April 10 in the Pacific Ocean.
Throughout the mission, the public can track Orion in space via NASA’s tracking tools, view live downlinks from the crew, and attend virtual launch events, part of NASA’s ongoing efforts to explore the Moon, advance scientific discovery, and lay the foundation for future human missions to Mars.
