German publication WinFuture published the leaked information on August 13, including renders of both devices. While the report largely matches earlier leaks, Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm the phones or their specifications.
The Poco F9 Pro is reportedly based on the Redmi K100 Pro, while the F9 Ultra is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K100 Pro Max. Xiaomi has previously used a similar strategy to bring high-end hardware to international markets with regional adjustments.
Display and performance
Both smartphones are expected to feature OLED displays developed in partnership with TCL CSOT, with a 185Hz refresh rate and peak HDR brightness of up to 4,500 nits.
The Poco F9 Pro is said to feature a 6.59-inch QHD display, while the F9 Ultra could come with a larger 6.85-inch panel offering a resolution of 2608 x 1200 pixels.
Both models are reportedly powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and could be offered with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. Neither phone is expected to support expandable storage.
Battery capacity appears to be one area where the latest leak differs from previous reports. The F9 Pro is reportedly equipped with a 6,330mAh battery, while the Ultra could feature an 8,050mAh battery. Both are expected to support 100W fast charging.
Camera and design
The Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra are reportedly set to feature a 200-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilisation.
The Pro could additionally feature an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The Ultra is expected to upgrade the ultrawide camera to 50 megapixels and offer 5x optical zoom.
Both smartphones could support 8K video recording and feature 32-megapixel front-facing cameras.
Leaked renders suggest that the phones will retain the wide camera module design seen on recent Redmi models. The module reportedly carries Bose branding, indicating possible collaboration on the audio system. The F9 Ultra may also feature an LED ring around its camera module for notifications.
Both devices are reportedly expected to carry an IP69 rating for protection against dust and water.
Expected prices
The Poco F9 Pro is reportedly expected to start at €799 for the variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Poco F9 Ultra could start at €999, with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
These prices are reportedly for the European market. Equivalent US dollar figures are only estimates and do not necessarily reflect the final prices in other regions.
Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the pricing, specifications or launch date of either smartphone. Some reports suggest the devices could be unveiled between August and September, but there is currently no official launch date.
While WinFuture has a track record of publishing early information about Xiaomi products, conflicting reports about the battery capacities and cameras suggest that some specifications could still change before the official announcement.
If the leaked specifications prove accurate, the Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra will target the premium smartphone segment with high-refresh-rate displays, flagship-level processing power and advanced optical zoom capabilities.
