The unusual incident took place last week in Macau, where a 70-year-old woman was strolling along the road while checking her mobile phone. Without warning, she sensed someone quietly following behind her.

When she turned around, she froze in shock standing right in front of her was a humanoid robot.

Startled and clearly annoyed, the woman scolded the machine, saying it had “made her heart race.” Witnesses described the moment as both tense and oddly humorous. In the now-viral video, the robot can be seen raising both hands in the air, almost as if it were surrendering, while the woman continues to lecture it.

‘You made my heart beat so fast! I have so many things to do, why are you doing this for no reason? Are you crazy?’ she reportedly told the robot.

Soon after the encounter, two police officers arrived at the scene and took the robot away, turning the strange moment into what many online users jokingly called ‘the world’s first robot arrest.’

According to reports cited by New York Post referencing China Macau Post, there was no physical contact between the robot and the woman. However, as a precaution, the woman was taken to a hospital for a medical check-up and was later discharged without any issues.

Investigations revealed that the robot belonged to a local educational center and was being used for promotional street activities. The machine was being remotely operated by a 50-year-old technician, who explained to police that he was simply testing and improving the robot’s performance.

Authorities issued a warning, reminding operators to avoid alarming pedestrians or putting the public at risk, especially when experimenting with emerging technology in crowded places.
