According to the international news agency Reuters, Elon Musk said in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that the steps taken by SpaceX to stop Russia’s unauthorized use of Starlink appear to have worked. He added that further action would be taken if necessary.
Earlier, Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said on Thursday that Ukraine is working with SpaceX to prevent Russia from using Starlink to guide drones. Ukrainian authorities had reported finding the Starlink internet system on long-range drones used in Russian attacks.

In a statement on X, Mykhailo Fedorov said that Western technology should be used to support the democratic world and protect civilians, not for terrorism or the destruction of peaceful cities.
Ukraine has said that evidence of Russia’s use of advanced Western technology is alarming, making immediate and effective measures essential to prevent the misuse of Starlink.
