The arrangement has been made under safeguarding regulations set by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), which apply to players under the age of 16.

Under these rules, Suryavanshi will remain with the Indian squad for matches and team meetings, but he will use a separate dressing room for changing and related activities throughout the five-match T20 series in England.

As an alternative, he may also use the main dressing room at a different time, provided senior players are not present.

The same safeguarding protocols are expected to apply during the two T20 matches in Belfast against Ireland. For this purpose, the Indian team has been allocated three separate rooms at the stadium pavilion, and team management has been briefed on the regulations.

An ECB spokesperson said that since the matches fall under ICC jurisdiction, ICC safeguarding procedures will be enforced alongside the ECB’s “Safe Hands” policy.

The spokesperson added that the cricket regulator is in close contact with the Indian team’s liaison officer to ensure all safeguarding requirements are met during the tour. Safeguarding officers at the venues are also working with team management to oversee arrangements.

The ECB further confirmed that Suryavanshi’s parents will accompany him throughout the tour. Given his age, special permission has been granted for them to stay at the same hotel as the Indian team, with all expenses covered by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Suryavanshi has previously been part of dressing rooms in the IPL, India A, and domestic cricket setups. If he makes his T20 International debut against Ireland or England, he could become India’s youngest male cricketer, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record of debuting at 16 years and 205 days.
