An important review meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Provincial Minister, where progress on event planning was closely examined and final decisions were made. During the meeting, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar approved the formation of various administrative committees and assigned clear responsibilities to the Sports Board Punjab and other concerned departments.

Special focus was placed on accommodation, transportation, security, parking, food services, and player facilities, highlighting the government’s commitment to athlete welfare.

Speaking at the meeting, the Provincial Minister announced that the Pink Games will officially begin on February 11, calling it a historic step toward promoting women’s sports, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He described the event as the first major mega sports festival of 2026, expected to attract widespread participation from across the province.

He shared that nearly 3,400 female athletes under the age of 21 from nine divisions of Punjab will compete in 20 different sports disciplines. The event will also feature cash prizes worth millions of rupees, aimed at encouraging talent and boosting morale.

‘Our daughters and sisters are the pride of Punjab,’ said Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar. ‘They deserve the best facilities, respect, and opportunities to shine.’

He directed all departments to ensure quality lodging, clean living spaces, timely transportation, uninterrupted electricity, and foolproof security for the players. Additional instructions included the installation of walk through gates, extra washrooms, improved parking arrangements, comfortable seating for spectators, smooth entry and exit routes, and the removal of obstacles around stadium areas.

The Provincial Minister emphasized that the Pink Games will serve as a powerful platform to highlight women’s talent, reaffirming that the Punjab government is taking practical and meaningful steps to bring women forward in sports.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman Sports Board Punjab Malik Suleman, Secretary Sports Muhammad Ali, representatives of the district administration, and senior officials of the Sports Board Punjab.
