Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Salman Naseer said that when the league started, there was limited interest, but five parties trusted the process and purchased teams.

He added that there were attempts to tarnish the league’s reputation, but it continued to grow. After 10 years, all PSL agreements came to an end, and it was decided that their value would be reassessed after the tenth edition.

Salman Naseer stated that there will be an auction for two new PSL franchises. The bidding parties will be provided with a pool of city names, from which they can select a team.

He further mentioned that HBL will remain the sponsor of the PSL for the next two years. HBL agreed to the sponsorship at a value set under the independent valuation by Asian, which marks a 505 percent increase compared to the previous agreement.
