Although Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson remain distanced from official royal duties because of their association with Jeffrey Epstein, their daughters still appear to be in King Charles’ favour. The sisters were invited to Princess Catherine’s annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey. They did not attend, however they expressed support from a distance.
Eugenie, who is active on Instagram, reposted Kensington Palace’s invitation card on her Stories. Beatrice does not use Instagram, therefore Eugenie conveyed the message on behalf of both.
“Wish Bea and I could have been celebrating tonight with our family,” she wrote. She did not mention the reason for their absence. It is widely viewed that the sisters may have chosen to stay away in order to prevent their parents’ controversies from shifting attention away from the event.
Eugenie also shared a warm note for the Princess of Wales. She wrote, “Wishing the Princess of Wales such a special evening at her incredible carol service. What an amazing message of love and hope.”
This marks the first time the York sisters have issued a direct public message to a senior royal since their father and their mother were removed from all royal roles and titles, including Prince and Duke of York.
