Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Saturday that he had sent his delegation to Egypt to work out the technical aspects, and representatives of Hamas would also participate in the negotiation of the conditions on the ground and the release of all Israeli captives and Palestinian prisoners.
The state-linked media in Egypt had previously reported that the adversaries were to make indirect negotiations on Sunday and Monday.
White House says that on Saturday, Trump sent two senior envoys to Egypt including his son in law, Jared Kushner, and his top adviser on Middle East matters, Steve Witkoff.
The US president gave a warning that he would not tolerate any delay by Hamas and urged the group to move swiftly toward a settlement or risk having no bets.
Netanyahu, who spoke on Saturday in a televised speech, claimed that Hamas had been pressured through military and diplomatic means to admit that the people held were being released.
He hoped that before long we could recover all our prisoners... on the Sukkot holidays, he said responding to the Jewish holidays which start Monday and continue one week.
Friday night, Hamas announced that it gave its permission to the liberation of all hostages, both living and bodies, on the exchange formula contained in the proposal of President Trump.
Trump swiftly celebrated the news as an indication that the group was poised to have a sustainable PEACE, and Israel should stop bombing.
However, Netanyahu noted on Saturday that Hamas will be disarmed, either through the plan of Trump diplomatically or by force.
Later that night, thousands of people assembled in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem to stop the confrontation and urging Trump to negotiate an agreement.
The talks occur barely two days before the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel by Hamas that sparked the war.
Israeli forces continued to make intensive bombardments on Gaza on Saturday, even though Trump urged them to restrain themselves.
According to Mahmud Bassal, spokesman of the Hamas-run civil defense agency the number of those killed by the continuing Israeli airstrikes since the early morning of today has reached 57, with 40 of these killed in Gaza City alone.
