According to Iranian news agencies, the IRGC’s public relations department in Khuzestan said that several areas across the province were targeted on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of three of its members.
Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera, citing Iranian news agency Mizan, reported that the strikes targeted locations in Khuzestan, though the claims have not been independently verified.
The reported attacks come as tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate. Tehran has recently adopted a tougher stance over maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, warning ships passing through the strategic waterway to remain in contact with Iranian authorities and follow routes designated by Iran.

The developments follow US President Donald Trump’s statement that a previous understanding reached between Iran and the United States through Pakistan’s mediation on June 17 was no longer effective, further increasing uncertainty over diplomatic efforts between the two sides.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed that it carried out retaliatory strikes against US interests in the region following American attacks.
In a statement, the IRGC claimed that US strikes targeted Iran’s southern coastal areas and two key bridges leading toward Mashhad. It said Iranian naval and air forces responded with missile and drone attacks on US military facilities, including bases in Kuwait and Bahrain.
The IRGC also alleged that the US attacks were aimed at diverting international attention from the funeral ceremonies of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran warned that any further military action against the country could lead to attacks on additional US bases across the region.
However, claims regarding the US strikes in Khuzestan, Iranian casualties, and attacks on American facilities have not been independently confirmed. The United States has not yet issued an official response regarding the reported casualties.
Analysts say the continued cycle of strikes and counterstrikes between Washington and Tehran could push the conflict into a more dangerous phase, increasing fears of a wider military confrontation in the region.
