In a written message broadcast on Iranian state television on Thursday, Khamenei called for national unity and solidarity among Iranians, warning against what he said were foreign efforts to destabilize the Islamic Republic.

“The enemy’s blind plan, after the imposed war, the economic pressure, and the political and propaganda siege, is to create divisions and disintegration in order to compensate for military defeats and bring the nation to its knees,” Khamenei said in the statement.

The message was delivered on the anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Republic’s national legislature.

Khamenei, 56, succeeded his father, former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed during the opening phase of US-Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28, an event that triggered wider regional conflict.

Since assuming office in March, Mojtaba Khamenei has largely remained out of the public eye, with Thursday’s written address being among his most significant public statements to date.

He further stressed that Iran’s adversaries were using political, economic, and media pressure campaigns alongside regional conflict to undermine the country’s internal stability.

The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and growing concerns over regional security and political stability.
