In an interview with Turkey’s state broadcaster TRT, Fidan said that the protests in Iran are driven by genuine economic and structural issues, but Iran’s rivals, including Israel, are trying to take advantage of the situation for their own interests. He emphasized that while Israel seeks to capitalize on Iran’s internal unrest, this strategy will not succeed.
Fidan noted that the recent protests in Iran differ from previous demonstrations and are limited in scope. He added that the Iranian people are aware of where to stop and how far to react, so Israel’s ambitions will not materialize.
Criticizing Israeli politics, the Turkish foreign minister said that some extremist Israeli ministers make provocative statements to gain attention. Statements against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish leadership have become routine in Israeli politics, but Turkey does not take these seriously, as they are often made by ministers from minor coalition parties seeking political popularity.
Regarding the situation in Gaza, Fidan accused Israel of deliberately obstructing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and introducing new demands, even though the Palestinian side has fulfilled its obligations. He said that Turkey is ready to play a role in humanitarian aid, reconstruction, and even peacekeeping in Gaza, but Israel currently opposes Turkish involvement, whereas the U.S. recognizes Turkey’s importance in the region.
The foreign minister also praised President Erdogan for confronting Israel’s “illusion-based system,” which has manipulated U.S. policy and regional affairs for decades. He said Erdogan has sent a clear message that the era of politics based on deception and lies is over.

On another note, reports indicate that during the ongoing violent protests in Iran, 217 people have been killed and over 2,500 arrested. Internet services remain shut down for the third consecutive day across the country.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has declared the protection of the achievements of the Islamic Revolution and national security a “red line.” The Iranian military also stated that, under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief, it will counter any enemy plots, monitor enemy movements in the region, and protect national interests and public property under all circumstances.
According to the Turkish foreign minister, the balance of power in the region is shifting, and the Islamic world has awakened. He emphasized that it is now time for regional countries to solve their own problems and end the era of waiting for external saviors.
